I'd like a little help from you guys regarding these 2 DCC LP's. I own sealed copies of both and they both have extremely low numbers, both are #14.
I have been purchasing a lot of LP's lately and have that guilty feeling because of my vinyl splurges and I wondered if these 2 LP's would get much attention on Ebay. I have the original US pressings and think they sound pretty good. I have been tempted many, many times to crack my sealed DCC's open but have not, so they are still sealed today. Do they sound a lot better than the US originals?

If I could sell them for a decent price, I might part with them. What do guys think I should do, I trust this forum's advice and opinions and know you guys can put things in perspective. :)

They are different like night & day. Keep em' and enjoy them and be really gratefull that you are able to have such a low number on the pressings. Just MHO mind you.;)

Sealed low numbers might attract big numbers, especially with popular titles like those. You might just want to search eBay and see what's doing. The Elvis 24K Hits always goes to a fairly high total, others seem to drift around $30-$40. The HOTEL CALIFORNIA sounds wonderful, but I don't have an original (why bother?) to compare it to.

Agreed. I have the DCC CD as well as the original vinyl and CD. The DCC trounces both the vinyl and CD. I imagine the DCC LP would do the same. So unless you don't care much for the Eagles...hang on to that one!

Well, a sealed copy has only one advantage: it's
worth more to a potential buyer, from a collector's
point of view. It also has the obvious disadvantage
of not being listened to! So, you must determine
where your greatest pleasure lies. For my own part,
I buy these examples of audio excellence in order
to be able to hear them. I do have some extra copies
of those I really like that are kept for appreciation
sake, later sale perhaps, who knows? But for the most
    part my "collection" gets played.

So, my 2 cents: sell them now, or open them up and
enjoy what Steve and others have worked so hard to
save for us! Or, find some other copies to play and
sell the low numbered ones. But by all means, enjoy
the music! They are that much better than any other
versions you will find, and so far, you've been missing
    out. :)

I would sell them both as they probably will do very well with the low #'s. Then you could purchase open copies and use the proceeds to buy some more stuff!

I owned 2 pressings of US Eagles Hotel Cal, one has the catalog number 7E-1086 with "thick vinyl" that sounded great(just about as good as my #0233 DCC), the other one has the catalog number 6E-103 with "thin vinyl" which don't sound that good(quite flat).

Sealed low number DCC Eagles LP will bring you around $100 each on Ebay, but remember this, once their gone you'll probably never find them again............:shake:

Well, you all make great points. I am not someone who can keep sealed Lp's around for very long but these 2 seem to have stayed that way due to the fact I don't listen to The Eagles much at all these days.

I also know from listening to my other DCC LP's and CD's that they are in most cases better sonically than the originals. It could be that someone else out there who really enjoys these 2 LP's may treasure them more than myself. I am a music lover, not a collector, so I may try to find a new home for these so that someone can enjoy them rather than keeping them stored in a cool, dark LP rack. :)

I still have sealed copies of both the DCC & MOFI on vinyl (+ the DCC CD). Thank God I don't like the Eagles, it will make it very easy when I decide to get rid of them.

Mike, I checked my 2 US pressings last night and here is what I found.
The 1st pressing(according to Goldmine)is the 7E-1084 and is on thin vinyl.
The 2nd pressing is the 6E-103 and is on thicker vinyl, although it is not 180g but certainly thicker than the 1st press. :)

I guess it is just typical of certain US pressings where you just don't know what really is going on??? Sometimes you just have to bit the bullet and buy a lot of different pressings to find the true diamond in the rough......:realmad:

    BTW, which one sounded better?

I'll give them both a listen tonight since it's been a while since I played them.
