Just completed building a new Bottlehead Foreplay preamp and one Paramour 2A3 mono amp (one to go) . So, since last Sunday, I've been testing and burning them in...

So the DCC mono jazz CDs have been the perfect disks. Miles, Coltrane, and Rollins.

'The Sound of Sonny' has been played several days. Excellent job!

    Well,

it's a little early to listen critically, brand spanking new and all. plus keeping the volume much softer than normal.

the first thing that grabs me is the rhythm. good pace. foot tapping, head bobbing and so forth.

the instruments (tenor sax, bass, piano, drums) sound very natural , correct timbre and no strain. Mostly, I'm hearing music.

Also great to discover this Sonny Rollins album.

    more later...
