I have several Deluxe Editions CDs in my collection, some great and some not more than average, so I wonder what are the ones your think that honors the “Deluxe” seal.

For me this is a good exemple of it:
    - Blind Faith - Blind Faith (2002 Polydor) - 2 CD pack, with great booklet, amazing unreleased tracks with precious jams.

Its funny before I opened the thread, I thought of BF as well. honestly!

Not because I listen to the extra track a lot (some of the bonus material drags on a bit).
But because I always felt their needed to be more than a single disc of BF.

There is more and better jams they could have used though.

    Still one of my favorites.

For me, Fleetwood Mac's Tusk is one of my favorites. A bit better sound, and it restored the full version of Sara on the Tusk album. The alternative versions, single edits and the other extras added are perfect for what in my view was this incarnation's most vital, creative and eclectic project.

Nine Inch Nails 'The Downward Spiral' 2CD/SACD hybrid. The original album on first disc with an SACD layer, the second disc is a good assortment of non-album tracks and overall great sound (assuming you like this style of music). The booklet isn't much different than the original CD issue but print quality is good. When I originally bought it I paid $20 for it which seemed a good deal at the time it came out, as many 2CD sets would average $30 new.

The Cure's deluxe editions are all pretty good (well, I don't have Mixed Up, but the rest are solid), but especially The Top. I'm also fond of the deluxe edition of Siouxsie and the Banshees' "The Scream," with the Peel Sessions and singles on the second disc.

The Marvin Gaye ones (What's Going On, Let's Get It On, I Want You, Trouble Man) were exemplary, particularly WGO and Trouble Man. The former had the two mixes, the concert version, and all the single sides. The latter had all of the album alternates, plus all the movie music. Packed packages both.

I really dig the John Martyn releases, specifically One World and Solid Air. The Kinks' DEs are great but could sound better (tho they do sound much better than the standards I had before).

Second disc has 18 choice reggae cuts from 1968-1972. Almost the history of reggae.

I will second Catch a Fire deluxe. These are the Orginial cuts by the band done in Jamaica. Raw and powerful, my preferred version.

I love the Marvin Gaye ones, but the one I probably play the most is Diana Ross - Diana

Original released album, unreleased Chic Mix of the album and a disc of Diana :Dance (12" mixes slightly dancier/disco tunes etc)-

Coincidentally I played the bonus material earlier this week ( I passed on the actual album as I prefer the MFSL disc). I don't think the jams do the band justice the way the unreleased material on the Layla re-releases has done.
