I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no. The pics are fun to view, but we all know they're just funny similarities.

  3. Well, I was born on the same day Sam Cooke died. I really was. I only found this out a couple of years ago, it gave me goosebumps.
I can't sing very well though. This is also true.
And by the way - that kid looks nothing like Bob Dylan.

Curly Howard did the curly shuffle-off in January of 1952.
I shuffled in on Aug. 15th of that year and I have always liked to throw pies in peoples' faces.
    Oh , a wise guy eeehhh ?

I just can’t see it myself. If you had put the picture of the young lad up on its own no-one would say ‘hey, doesn’t that look exactly like a young Bob Dylan’.

So it turns out Dylan knocked a few years off his age in his official press bio, so what? Everyone did back then. Personally I think he’s looking great these days for 130.

The thing is, we dont really know that. Record keeping in the 1800s was spotty at best, and there were no regulations. Sometimes staff made up the information later. Like the guy who looks exactly like Nick Cage.......I'd almost bet they are related in some distant way that nobody can document in 2018. Same for the Travolta guy.

Just like how that northern lord from Westeros reincarnated into Pete Townshend.

That kid doesn't even remotely resemble Dylan.

But we DO know. Because common sense tell us so. If you're talking about descendants I'm willing to listen but time travel is just fantasy. You can't convince me it's a possibility. Because it isn't.

Edit: re-reading your post, I think you likely ARE talking about the possibility these people could be descendants, so please ignore my indignant tone.

Thievius: Yes, I meant descendants, not Time Travel. I think the Nick Cage and Travolta pics from the 1800s , I think those guys are related to the 2 actors, and because record keeping was so bad (many, many MANY children were abandoned in those days) no one knows who thier parents really were.

Seriously though, all I could see whenever Roose Bolton appeared was a younger, less beat down version of Townshend. I'm shocked more people haven't made the comparison. I made a lot of Townshend/Who jokes while watching GoT, to the point my wife got pretty sick of it and was glad when Roose finally died

Actually, I believe that the consensus among top scientists ( and I think Al Einstein also) is that the theory of Time Travel IS possible, but that as of yet, we dont have the technical ability to build the equipment needed to change the earths axis (or something along those lines).
I DO know this.....that every generation has feats that are considered impossible, and every generation accomplishes some of them:
    Breaking the Speed of sound
Putting a man on the Moon (in the early 50s, the scientists would have laughed at you).
    Heavier than Air flying machines.
Medical Operations / Surgery (this was considered impossible by medical science at one time)
Harnessing the power of Lightning (electricity).
Transmission of sound and pictures thru the Ether (TV).

I definitely see the resemblance between Bob Dylan and the schoolkid. Human genetics is wildly fascinating .. there are known and documented cases of identical strangers; far rarer an instance than striking similarity, yes, but it has happened and will continue, that is if gene-splicing doesn't radically f*** everything up. I read a cool book once, fictional novel, but interesting in that it dealt with two identical strangers meeting by happenstance, and having a friendly pint in a pub. Written by Dame Daphne du Maurier and first published in 1957, it is titled "The Scapegoat". That ought to be enough to tantalise !
    :faint:
