Did you ever get a gift in the mail and not know who it came from?

Baby Michael received a beautiful rocking horse from Nordstrom in far away Ontario, Canada. No card was enclosed. Arggh!

No one we know sent it, so that means someone of the Forum Folk (is that like Hobbit Folk?)

Can whoever sent this great (and way too expensive) gift post here or email the Webmaster?

    Thanks so much!

By the way, I'll know it's really you if you describe what kind of rocking horse this is. It's not actually a horse!

Ok, I admit it it. I sent it. Ontario was the only place I could find that had a live rocking dwarf in stock.

Ontario, far away? It's just a couple dozen miles SOUTH of us here in Detroit!

Rudy, being shipped from Canada can be very deceiving. I received an item from Ont. Canada and immediately thought the same as you. Wrong!!! It came from the UK. ;)

    Steve,

I could not find a Nordstroms in Ontario. There is one in Troy, Michigan near Rudy...

I take it this item was shipped directly by Nordstrom or was it privately shipped?

    Nice gift for Michael!

That's up at the Somerset Collection...one of those trendy, expensive, upscale yuppie malls. (I mean, we're talking Sak's, Tiffany's, FAO Schwantz, etc.) So no, it wasn't me. ;) (Although my name DOES keep popping up! ) I'm more the type to find unique, handmade gifts, something you wouldn't find at your usual department stores.

And aside from that, I don't even have Steve's address! :)

I wonder if there is a distribution center for Nordstrom up in Ontario? Which city was it located in? I'm thinking it could have been ordered from Nordstrom's website and shipped from whatever warehouse had it in stock.

Ed Bishop Incredibly, I'm still here

This isn't the first time he's gotten one of those....but honestly, in all my years, I can't remember someone sending me something without either putting their addy on, inserting a note, or telling me in some other fashion.

On the other hand, that doesn't mean I would mind if it were to happen;) , but I can see how it might bug somebody. Most of us want to say a sincere 'thank you' when we receive something, because not just money but thought and care went into it. Very flattering, really.

Of course, another problem then presents itself: if the giver--or perp, if you will--fesses up to Steve privately, he's not going to tell us, right? So while Steve's curiosity may be satisfied, the rest of us are left dangling.

Better off that NONE of us knows, perhaps....

Has nobody considered the obvious explanation?

It's an early delivery from ol' Kris Kringle himself, of course.
