No complaints. Nice sentiment on this one. Murry must have liked it. This is an uncanny example of Dennis and Jakobson at work. Doesn't sound like the work of anyone else in the band. I can go as high as:

    5/5

Forever is my favorite song of all time, on my favorite album of all time. 5/5.

Our Sweet Love is unusually conventional for a Brian Wilson song. The moon/June style lyrics and the absence of any quirky breaks, unexpected key changes, or other BW trademarks would tend make me think of this--on paper, anyway--as nothing more than pleasant filler. Yet it's one of my favorite BB songs and has been ever since I first heard it many years ago. The melody is gorgeous and Carl's vocal is perfection. In fact, I consider this to be one of Carl's finest efforts (and that's saying something). The lesson for me is that you can't overthink this one. Just sit back and enjoy. 5/5

I like it, it is pleasant and ice-cream-y, but I only give it a 4/5.

And the carnival barker, contrary to some who think that it was Love, was actually the listed “producer”, Nick Venet.

This remake of Our New Home is beautiful, and I actually think the chord changes in the verses are a little unusual - if you play this on piano it's a neat little descending progression. Great vocals, lyrically a little mundane but who cares about lyrics when the song sounds this great. Carl and Al get a writing credit on this, I wonder who did what - presumably they helped with or completely wrote the lyrics. 5/5

    Another highlight from the album.
Love the mix on MADE IN CALIFORNIA.

The little fill that takes us from chorus back to verse is very "Wonderful" -esque.

The pick up is also very God Only Knows-ish. I look at OSW as GOK's slightly less handsome, but equally charismatic little brother.

OSL - Anytime Carl takes the lead the results are usually sublime.

Agree with Pawnmower regarding the MIC mix.

OSL fits snuggly into the vibe that Sunflower offers. It wouldn't be Sunflower without it, would it? Incredible arrangement and one of Carl's many "not of this Earth" vocals. Brian, Carl and Al make up a great team writing this and with Dennis adding his solid output, how could it get any better? 5/5

"Our Sweet Love" is a short but lovely song, I love Carl's vocals and the sitar-guitar solo in the middle (which is also a bit too short), nice easygoing lyrics. It does seem to have a passing resemblance to "God Only Knows" both in rhythm and vocals, but I'm sure that's a coincidence. Perfect summer song, 4/5

Carl’s voice was a gift from the Heavens. Our Sweet Love showcases that amazing gift in all its glory.

    5/5.

"Our Sweet Love" - wouldn't be Sunflower without it, but it also sounds and acts like it escaped from Friends. Reminds us of something old, something new, "Forever" is not the only wedding song on this album. Another 5/5.

No complaints. Carl's lead vocal is one of his best. Nice imagery and olfactory imagineering. They might have been able to get away with issuing this as a single with some success fighting. Strange that it wasn't at least a B side.

Actually the one that reminds me most of "Friends" is "At My Window", but I'm getting ahead of the thread here:cool:

    Our sweet love: 5/5

Everything about this song is gorgeous, the singing the melody, harmonises, like taking a stroll in a field sunflowers on a summer day while drinking a lemonade.
