I love THE COMPLETE TURTLE'S box set.....year's of waiting and everything mono/stereo in 1 package in addition to an "A & B SIDES" collection......
Definitely. The Complete Turtles box which is very satisfying and is up to par with comprehensive box sets released by labels such as Bear Family and Mosaic. It probably helps that Volman and Kaylan were involved with the project as well, because you can tell they truly listened to what the fans wanted. Still haven't bought the standalone 2CD singles comp which is an essential companion to the box. Although The Turtles have been well-represented on CD in recent years, I do wish BGO would begin a reissue campaign of the Grass Roots albums as 2CD fourfers. Even the more recent reissues from Japan have gone OOP and are commanding large sums from collectors.
I love the few BGO c.d.'s I have....like I've said I own mostly PUB ROCK related BGO'S as I am a huge NICK LOWE/ROCKPILE fan!Speaking of a "COMPLETE TURTLE'S" styled boxset... I'd especially love a DAVE CLARK 5 "COMPLETE BOXSET" As well......as far as I'm concerned the TURTLE'S COMPLETE should be template for many bands/artists.....music....packaging....sound at a great price!imagine......
You have impeccable taste in music. Pub rock is great as well. Speaking of Rockpile, are you a fan of English singer-songwriter Paul Kennerley? Any fans of English songwriter Paul Kennerley?
Thanks....yes I am familiar with PAUL KENNERLEY through my love of EMMYLOU HARRIS & ROSEANNE CASH.....As well as really loving guitarist ALBERT LEE....the english really get COUNTRY MUSIC!
Which "Mod" era? At the time of the "British Invasion," she was in her early/mid 20s. EDIT: She doesn't look too bad at 70, here in 2011 . . .
I have since acquired . . . Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Dirt, Silver and Gold Canned Heat, Canned Heat/Boogie with Canned Heat (contains a truncated 6:45 version of "Fried Hockey Boogie.") Gary Wright, Footprint/Gary Wright's Extraction Iron Butterfly, Ball/Metamorphosis All satisfactory, but would've preferred the long version of the Canned Heat track, but I already have that on an EMI comp.
no worries...like I said maybe someone who purchased it will link it for me...I don't expect you to search for it for me...but thanks for the thought!
I highly reccomend this set....mono/stereo versions for each album....bonus tracks in an attractive sturdy box
