Maybe re-title thread to Doris Day,The Posthumous Years.
No disrespect to Ms. Day-a long fruitful career in two different fields of entertainment who seemed to do the right thing no matter what situations were in her life.

I know I'm famous around here :magoo:
but believe it or not I am not an administrator. The OP or the Gorts or Our Host should be addressed. I agree but the best way is to close a RIP thread after a month or so and have someone else open up an appreciation thread.

IMO, for all RIP threads, the person’s date of death should be included in the thread title.

Would a Gort please add (April 3, 1922 - May 13, 2019) to the thread title? Thanks.

My favourite version is my original UK CBS single. There is something about the mix and the mastering.

Fabulous track that affected me even when I was a little boy and didn't really understand what the song was about.

Had I known what it was about then I would probably have described it as rude.

I bought one of those 45s in excellent condition in a charity shop only yesterday for 50p! It's still in the CBS company sleeve too. I'm looking forward to playing it now. Going to give it a clean first.

I do have the EP but it's not in great condition. Nice sleeve though.

Listening to Doris all morning to celebrate her 100th birthday.

And like Colonel Potter, I might play “Sentimental Journey” more than once!

TCM is celebrating Day @ 100 as I write this not only with film but with TV specials and what is described as a Doris Day Animal Shelter Promo.

Well, my initial thought seeing this back on the first page was 'Oh no'! Then remembering that Doris Day died a few years ago. Still a sad loss.

The variety specials were OK(not great Rich Little or Tim Conway material),stayed for an episode of the sitcom because Tony Bennett was a guest star but I could not tolerate another sitcom episode. I did not have access to TV when the show first aired and I'm glad I did.
