Looking for a DVD-V and DVD-A player. Emphasis on the "V" with "A" a secondary (although necessary) option.

Found a JVC XV-D721 player (amazing price) but looking on AA and elsewhere for reviews, it looks like most people are not impressed. I've not hooked it up yet (and I don't have 6.1 surround yet!) so I may just return it.

Anyone have any experience with this player? Any suggestions for other players?

Remember, I have a SACD player already..... so I really don't want a DVD-V and SACD player.

I would most probably buy a Panasonic. I keep hearing good things about Panasonic VCRs and DVD players.

Gary, Toshiba makes a couple of DVD V/A players. I believe Khorn has one.

I believe most people would say the Panasonic and Toshiba players offer a little more quality over all than the JVC.

I own the Panasonic RP-91 and am very happy with it. I would give it high marks for both the video and audio performance.
