Ed Townsend ('For Your Love') Has Died

    Ed Townsend who wrote and performed "For Your Love" (#13 in '58) ... which is one of my favorites ... has died at age 74 ... he also wrote Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On" (#1 in '73) ... which I didn't know. His LA Times obituary . :(

    Ed Townsend also was responsible fot Gaye's "I Want You" album.

    I thought it was Leon Ware who was involved with I Want You Grant.

    Sorry to threadcrap - sad news. Ed had some arrangements done by Nelson Riddle years ago when he recorded for Capitol, though I don't think I've ever heard any of it. Hopefully he didn't suffer.
