I always thought him having Ronnie Spector sing a hook in "Take Me Home Tonight" after name checking her was one of the cleverer things I've heard done in a pop song. I still love hearing it on the radio. RIP.

    RIP, Eddie.

His first album was a mind-blower for me in 1977, and to this day still a personal favorite that I play on a regular basis. In the midst of all that was disco came this meat and potatoes rock record with some great guitar riffs and a raspy-voiced singer. It was perfect!

Just the other day I pulled out his debut and gave it a spin, I forgot what a good album it was. Even his sophomoric effort is good.

forever grateful for not only his own music, but also for bringing Ronnie Spector out of retirement and getting Paul Collins signed to Columbia

Sad news. He had some great radio hits. Interesting career. His old hits still get a good deal of airplay on classic rock and classic hits radio. RIP.

The only time I got to see Eddie was at Winterland in 1978. I was in High School. It was a KSJO 10th anniversary show so Sammy Hager has a couple special guests. Toward the end off the show Neal Schon came out and blew everyone away playing Rock Candy. Then joined by Eddie Money.
The whole show is on You Tube. So I can relive my younger days once in a while.

"Baby Hold On" was a great tune, Motown-esque, a song that could almost, unchanged, have been a hit a dozen years before it was actually released.

    RIP.

Outstanding live performer in his prime! He knew how to bring it and his hits sounded even better live back then.

I saw Eddie open for Santana a few months before his first record came out. Eddie was great, as was his guitar player, Jimmy Lyon. I still listen to a lot of his music as I love the first three albums, especially Playing For Keeps.
