    Hello,
I already have Sony legacy special editions of :
    BSS
    Trilogy
    Tarkus
    s/t
Do I really need the BMG versions ? They are the same remastered dates ...

Yes, you do. Start with ELP I and Pictures, then Welcome Back My Friends. You'll be impressed by the former two,
astounded by the latter one. Plus you get the remixes, espeicailly Lucky Man.. Works, Works II, and Love Beach
    you can pass on..

Pictures and Welcome Back are very good. In my opinion all BMG's are fine sound-wise, altough the lack of bonus material was a let down.

Thank You, but what can be different on remasters from Sony SE to BMG as on these titles :
s/t, BSS, Trilogy, Tarkus the years of remastering are excactly the same ?

Always wondered why they filmed this outdoor in the middle of winter (77)? Carl doesn't look quite as warm with that leather coat as Greg and Keith.

When ELP were rehearsing with the orchestra under the stadium, they heard that the Fanfare single was riding high on charts and there was a pressure to come up with a video. During a break Greg went upstairs and saw the snow-filled stadium and thought it looked beautiful. The film crew was hired, and the video was shot as quickly as possible.

This track called Recession by The Prophet always makes me think of Keith Emerson's Moog work, particularly beginning at 3:02.

s/t, Trilogy and Tarkus were not remastered for BMG. I think Brain Salad Surgery was said to have been remastered, but to my ears it sounds pretty much the same as the Sony version.

It wasn't the middle of winter, it was August 26 (pretty much the middle of summer) and a freak snowstorm.

No. Aug 26 was the orchestral *concert* at the Olympic stadium - what you see in the (somewhat crappy) video from the tour, with a stadium full of fans. The tour started in mid-May 1977, the Montreal rehearsals took place before that. Snow in August in Montreal....don't think so.

Aquatarkus from WBMFttSTNE has got to be one of the best performances / pieces of music ever caught on tape.

WBMFttSTNE was released in Quad (8 track of all things) back in the day. Wouldn't it be fantastic if we can have this in QUAD/SACD like what they just did for Miles Davis's 'Bitches Brew'?

It would. It also needs to be remixed in stereo and 5.1. Some kind of CD/BD box set would be fine.

Did they ever fix the bits of distortion on the title track on Tarkus?
