This upcoming release is produced by Russ Titleman, who previously worked with Eric on Journeyman, 24 Nights, Unplugged and From The Cradle.

Only question is why Paul Carrack wasn't included on keyboards?

Always fancied a second Unplugged volume, cover some of those tunes from his past, All our past times, Too Bad, Sing Language, Hello Old Friend, I am yours

Weirdly i never pictured him returning to Golden Ring. But as soon as i read the title, well i now have this song playing as an earworm in my head. Havent played it in years but i remember it.

Chris Stainton has been with Eric much longer than Paul has

That doesn't mean it was the reason. Carrack was supposed to be part of at least the last tour. (Which may have been intended to include both him and Stainton.)

A decent track list could happily loose Layla and Tears From Heaven

Same here and while this gets close to that, I wish he would’ve dropped repeat tracks like Layla, Tears In Heaven, etc. and picked some new ones from his extensive back catalog to revisit. Something as fresh sounding as the unplugged Layla was in 1991…

Ha! That was the first thing I was looking for. Anything with him attached to Clapton seems to dull the sessions. The albums are pleasant enough, but not a lot of fire. That said, I loved the Robert Johnson albums.

Been a huge EC fan for decades. Several favorite albums.
Not interested in this at all. I watched the preview video - nothing motivated me to explore it further.
Still great respect and admiration for his music.

Nice to hear there is a CD only version from Target. I am interested in hearing these performances, but can't imagine ever watching the DVD.

Cool. Will check this out. Wish there was a 2nd guitarist to push him a little. He always plays better that way. Hopefully doing less for this pulls attention away from his more recent headlines.

I’ve been saying for years that Clapton should do an Unplugged 2, but this looks a bit flat

Well I am glad to read a piece of news regarding Clapton that isn't a complete tire fire on his end lol. Good set of songs, Unplugged was always one of my favorites from him so I will be streaming this when it comes out

It's nice that he's paying tribute to Peter Green. He never made any public statement on his passing and I guess this is better.

Funny how he and Van both chickened out of putting their anti vax songs on albums.

I noticed that he's only currently touring in anti-vax states.

Sounds like it's gonna be a good one. I've always loved the Robert J DVD and I'm more than ready for something new along those lines. I'm in!

By the way, it's nice to read a thread about Clapton's latest without there being 90% non-music knee-jerk reaction crap. Thanks!

I think at 76, Eric is now well beyond the point of wanting to be pushed. He’s sort of settled into his comfort zone with core set of players and familiar set sets.

Lockdown Sessions seems like an apt project for this time in his life. Playing with his mates in a nice countryside cottage, a very relaxing vibe and high quality musicianship. They should’ve included a nice bottle of wine with the deluxe set :)
