Solly Bridgetower Elton is my golden God of music. Deal with it.

This is fantastic news. I'm more excited about this than any other fall release, including Sir Elton's forthcoming album.

An instant purchase for me. I only wish it was less acoustic and more electric. Eric’s wife Melia who is The Lady In The Balcony is a beautiful soul who does a lot of charitable work for addiction.

Just ordered the Deluxe Edition on amazon.fr, which seems to be the cheapest option here in Europe.

Had this discussion with my wife the other day. She's a big music fan as well; not a huge Clapton fan. Here she fell into the 'enjoy the music not the man' camp, which has validity. At least for recordings we already own.

When was the last the last time he played it? 1970, wasn't it?

    Re: Bad Boy

Always liked this on his '70 debut LP though was intrigued to more recently read some vintage article whereby Eric claimed he wasn't happy with Bad Boy or more specifically his treatment of it.
I wonder if that could be a reason for his revisiting the track?

I don't believe he ever played it in the 70's, according to setlist.fm he only played it three times in 1995. I know setlist.fm is by far complete, but never heard a boot either where it's played live, but my memory might fail on me here.

That's one expensive track, compared to the Amazon prices.

I think it's on the Derek & the Dominos show from the Electric Factory, or possibly the one from Ohio(?) I just know I have it. :D

I wonder how many extra sales/revenue they drive through this “Japan only” bonus track strategy. Why not make it available everywhere?

This scheme helps Japan sell domestically made copies of albums, instead of cheaper imports.

I find Clapton's rendition of Man of the World to be really lovely. I'm quite glad that this exists and can't wait to hear the Lady in the Balcony version.
