I'm walking behind you - great! I actually once bought the 45 for a relative who was born while it was at #1.

    Cheer up with the flipside!

Speaking of which, Jo Stafford had her own version of "Just Another Polka." One reason I got it was the US catalogue number - Columbia (4-)40000.

The UK ish of Fisher's "I'm Walking Behind You," meanwhile, had as its flip "Hold Me." Good thing we (mostly) only handle A sides, innit?

The US single (as "The Moulin Rouge Theme (Where Is Your Heart)"):
    [IMG] [IMG]
Wikipedia entry - had also reached #16 in US Billboard (where the biggest selling version was by Percy Faith And His Orchestra Featuring Felicia Sanders, which was #1 for 10 weeks and the Number One song of 1953 in the States).

And here, for equal time, is Faith's version which, I.I.N.M., didn't chart in Britain:

    [IMG] [IMG]
(This, I have. In both speeds.)

B.T.W., in the film, none other than Muriel Smith (of UK "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" fame) dubbed Zsa Zsa Gabor's singing voice.

It should also be noted that in US Cash Box, Faith's and Mantovani's versions were both listed at #1 (along with other renditions on other labels), as in those days that publication combined all versions into one master entry, unlike Billboard listing each version individually. I suppose it's fortunate for all of us that Percy Dickins modeled the NME charts after Billboard's and not Cash Box'.

I knew the Percy Faith / Felicia Sanders version, but not the Mantovani one. Much prefer the one with vocals. The song is wonderful, love it.
You can say that again. I guess that kind of listing says something about the attitude towards artists at the time.

I have heard Seven Lonely Days by Dorothy Collins on cd of 50s Divas. I think I prefer the Patsy Cline version (just listened to Giselle Mackenzie. She was Canadian.

I love that song! The original version by Georgia Gibbs is great too. I've heard many country artists do it but often they make it too fast.
