And here's two more from the Thin White Duke. Different cover pose, different titles/logos and colors.
Not sure whether this comes under "alternate covers" or "homemade compilations", but my design for a ZZ Top 4-disc Eliminator deluxe doesn't use the recognised front artwork, or any variation on it. I decided to make use of a Gimme All Your Lovin' 7" sleeve scan on google (a very crumpled copy!), and a few hours later, we had this: EG.
That’s okay. I also use artwork for singles, inner sleeves, back covers and promo and tour posters for my redesigns. Sometimes, record companies also use outtakes or old publicity photos on greatest hits compilations so when appropriate for an earlier album, I use them too, as in the case of Grand Funk.
Well having done Eliminator, I thought I'd have a crack at Afterburner. Final version subject to change, but this is how it's shaped up... Not even enough bonus material / alternate pressings or masterings to make it more than a single disc. But it saves me having to find multi-disc cases! EG.
My cover for a ripped recording of Public Image Limited's Coachella set. For some reason the images aren't loading so here's the link: http://www.babaziba.com/pildeath.jpg
How's this? Found a black and white publicity photo taken from the same cover sessions (probably the same photo), colorized it manually and enhanced it some more.
