Bad news! I just read on Salvatore Esposito's blog that he's just (voluntarily!) returned to his beloved Italy from the state's. Production on the latest season of Fargo, in which he's appearing, has been suspended (For a few months, according to him!) due to the virus.
Watched season 1 some time ago, missed 2, and just finished 3. Going over the previous posts, it looks like I should queue up season 2 during the wait for 4. I thought both 1 & 3 were great. 3 was not as good as 1, had some missteps, and I didn't care for the intentionally ambiguous ending...otherwise, quite engaging and some great characters. I don't watch much TV...this is the only series I'm currently watching, and I've not found much else of this caliber (not with Better Call Saul's season done). Shame about the delay on 4. Chris Rock can pull off some respectable drama...if he keeps it to that.
Season 2 is awesome! I highly recommend it. I didn't like Season 3 that much, but enjoyed Season 01. Agreed on the delay for Season 4.
Hope folks are aware that season 4 starts this Sunday (9/27)? Was surprised to find the thread dormant...
That explains the confusing email I got from some site I don't remember. It was touting that the DVD was being released on that date, along with a link to Amazon which of course lists no such DVD yet. Jeez.
pretty good first 2 episodes last night. a but slow, but i've come to understand that is how TV is nowadays. they have these 8, 10, 12 episode arcs and they have to fill the time.
The nurse character played by Irish actress Jessie Buckley is one of the more intriguing characters, what exactly her game (other than being an Angel Of Mercy)? The other strange plot devise is that the two families exchange a child to raise to each other. That poor kid eating peanut butter sandwiches while downstairs we see plates of pasta and meatballs!
Bummer. I enjoyed the “quirkiness” of the setting in the Frozen North. Almost wish they called it “Kansas City” “From the makers of Fargo” or some such.
In season 2 Bokeem Woodbine played Kansas City gangster Mike Milligan. I wonder if they’ll tie him into this season‘s Milligan clan somehow.
Since this is a music forum, I’m going to make a petty complaint. Unless it skipped forward and I missed it, this was set in the late 50’s. The song playing at the beginning of episode 2 was Roger Miller’s YOU CAN’T ROLLER-SKATE IN A BUFFALO HEARD. I think this song was from ~1965.
I love this show so much. How they’re able to consistently conjure the atmosphere and tone of the film is beyond me. Each season has been a really compelling story in that universe. Chris Rock is fantastic! I’m sure just how this season in Kansas City ties into the frozen north will be revealed in due time.
My pvr only recorded episode one and I was not impressed. However, Jessie Buckley is so darn awesome that I must continue to watch.
I'm pretty sure Mike is the kid eating peanut butter sandwiches. The Irish fellow looking after him is named "Milligan". on edit: Josh Hawley basically confirms it here. Fargo creator hints at season 4 connection to previous series villain
Cool, I didn't know Jessie Buckley was in this. I've really liked her in everything I've seen her in.
