Some real heavyweights in the New Wave corner, and my pick is Inflammable Material. But what a great year for music.

Darkness On The Edge Of Town is my favorite album, of any year, by any artist. That makes this list easy, because if I had to choose between You're Gonna Get It, Powerage, This Year's Model, All Mod Cons, Some Girls, holy crap, this was a good year.

    Elvis Costello - TYM...

With his little band heading straight into the Punk wilderness & coming out the other side making all of us the better for it...

He sustained his electric Dylan raging momentum pared with his Randy Newman humor honed to perfection on TYM his greatest LP...

Rod Stewart EPTAS is my fav early 70s record & TYM is not only my fav 1978 album but it is my fav late 70s record as well...mid 70s would be Dylan & The Band The Basement Tapes

    Kate Bush - Lionheart

because it was the first album i ever bought (aged 13). The Kick Inside followed shortly thereafter and the first seeds of completism were sown.

Tough Year, three of my all time favourites were released in 1978 and for 40 years I've never really been able to separate them.
