I have seen many (not in a long time), and some are quite interesting. I'll have to review some more, but if you have a favorite, please post a video, or their name and their movie picks. And if you can, analyze their selections, maybe compare it to their work, too.

I wouldn't consider myself a fan of Agnes Varda (Vagabond was pretty good), but I was happy she picked "Taste of Cherry" which is such a great movie.

I like director, Marco Bellochio's picks. Umberto D. isn't high on my list of faves but all the other picks are tops in my book. I must confess that I've not watched a single film of his. That'll change tonight with a viewing of last year's The Traitor. Among other accolades it was given an Oscar nod for Best Foreign Language film.

Go for the box sets! Go for the box sets!

Richard Ayoade, who I love, gets it wrong:

For Nashville, Jules and Jim ("my first 3 way!") and Wanda, which I'm watching for the first time today (streamer).

Just started watching some of these.
Some of the 'pickers ' seem reluctant to choose too many films as they don't want to appear to be too greedy. But one guy packed his bag to the brim. And that 's what I'd do. Imagine having that wealth of films available to you and you only pick a handful. Not !

I am not sure of the etiquette in this situation, but you’re right, some pickers do hold themselves back from taking what they might perceive as too many.

If you click on the visualisation link I posted above, you can filter the results with the ‘greediness’ tab, which is fun and illuminating.

    I've watched the Blu-Rays, a great collection!

Weirdly, Salò is the most popular choice. Not a film for the faint-hearted.

Just exactly whatis the deal with taking movies ? Can you have as many as you can carry or do they ask you to limit it? I would imagine the former.

And because Agnes loved "Taste of Cherry", I decided to give one of her picks a chance, and I'm grateful. It's been a while since I've seen a really good movie that had me locked in.

Some great picks here, still a couple I have to watch on Mike's selections.

I own most of his choices. Nice to see him give a shoutout to the Czech New Wave, Ozu, and Georges Franju, all of which/whom I love. Not sure why he puts them all back on the shelf, mind.

    Hometown boy, too!

Umberto D" is one of my favorites. De Sica is definitely my favorite director.
From Bellochio, I really liked "Fist in Pocket"
