John Cazale is my favorite supporting actor. He seemed to choose the right movies, too!

I was pretty sure Fleischer was Richard Fleischer but I had to look up Charles McGraw—first time hearing his name... :)

I love Charles McGraw, even when he's a bit role for two minutes.

I looked up his filmography and I have seen a few of his movies, though not the Richard Fleischer ones. Next time I see them again I’ll look out for his performances.

You have to see The Narrow Margin, one of the best noir's ever made. It has moves that do Hitchcock proud, especially the train sequence. Relentless from the first frame. And it has Marie Windsor in great form.
Love Charles McGraw, whatever he's in.

Going through this thread has been a reminder of what magic can happen with the perfect combination of director and actor.

If I had to pick just 5:

    Von Sternberg/Dietrich
    Kurosawa/Mifune
    Fellini/Mastroianni
    Kazan/Brando
    Herzog/Kinski

The Narrow Margin (the 1952 original) is a classic, and Armored Car Robbery is a very well-done B movie from '50. Eddie Muller has some nice info on them both on YouTube. McGraw's voice reminds me of Lawrence Tierney's---like he gargled with gravel every morning.
