SWAT, Emergency, ADAM 12, 6 Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman, Incredible Hulk, Starsky and Hutch.

All of those were my weekly routine. Amazing when you only had 3 channels everyone had the same discussions at school because we all watched the same shows.

 

Yeah Six Million Dollar Man had a great intro, I recall it aired every Sunday night.

 

I loved this one as a little kid:

 

And did we already cover The Avengers?

 

The Hawaii 5-0 main title, which was supervised by Reza S. Badiyi, is probably in the top 10 greatest main titles for any American show ever made. We actually studied this in film school and saw several French and German films (including Topkapi) that actually originated this kind of fast paced style, the swish-pans, the frantic cutting, and everything that made it memorable. And the song was absolutely perfect. This was the first time I was made aware of how important head turns and body movement were in editing. Lots of head turn shots in this main title.



The main title was actually better than the show!

 

I think everyone who saw this show remembers the title sequence.

This was the first one to pop into my mind. It will forever make me think of my mom. Memories of this as a small child.
