  3. I don't know about that scene, but could the hairstyle (+ facial hair and sideburns) of some of the guys in the audience actually be found as early on as 1965?

Yes, quite right. Turns it it was identified as 1967 in a post I'd missed earlier in the thread.

Well, the Beatles did have a few different looks during the film Help.

Some less mod than others...I think those scarves were an added twist...

They did have the beatnik look during certain parts of the film. And the turtleneck "intellectual" look...

    Per http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mod_(subculture)

"Simon Frith asserts that the mod subculture had its roots in the 1950s beatnik coffee bar culture, which catered to art school students in the radical Bohemian scene in London. Steve Sparks, who claims to be one of the original mods, agrees that before mod became commercialised, it was essentially an extension of the beatnik culture.."

Here's your song back for you...

Don't look much like Pete Townshend, :), or The Who.

Mod...not Pete look a likes. Similar to Pete's particular look in the opening post...

I guess I give up. The host himself calls out for favorite Who photos and still we get a Beatles infestation.

I love the way he's grown old... After the silly 1982 hairdo, he's let nature take its course: no dye, implants, wigs or other foolishness. He has actually (gasp!) grown old GRACEFULLY!
