"With the Beatles" (November 1963) opens with

It Won't be Long --> All I've Got to Do --> All My Loving

Certainly the Toppermost of the Poppermost!

(Edit: I missed that the album represented is supposed to be "Not So Great"... this doesn't fit that, since I think "With the Beatles" is as good as any album outside of "The White Album" and "Who's Next")

Jeff Lynne had a particular knack for starting off albums strong, though the goodness certainly didn’t stop after side 1.

I think The Doors "Waiting for the Sun" is vastly underrated, but because so, many here may find it "Not So Great."

If that's the case, I submit:

Love Street --> Not to Touch the Earth --> Summer’s Almost Gone

Obviously that who doesn't know the Italian language can not understand the texts.
But it does not do anything ... here matters the music moves forward.
    And what a MUSIC!

Nah, everything welcome! Just more of a bonus if the album is poor/patchy, but still can’t be dismissed. 2nd post was: “Of course, the best trios on great albums are also included”.

Also, I’m finding that even on great albums, there is not often 3 great songs in a row. Something like London Calling by the Clash has at least a couple of runs, but also a fair bit of filler. These are my two ‘runs’ for that album:
    • Hateful
    • Rudie Can’t Fail
    • Spanish Bombs
Or on the vinyl, side 2:
    • Lost In The Supermarket
    • Clampdown
    • The Guns Of Brixton
