Favourite UK album in 1971?

What made you choose '71?

So many to choose from...Led Zeppelin IV, Sticky Fingers, Aqualung, RAM, Muswell Hilbillies, and my pick for the best of the bunch: Who's Next.

 

When I look at all the suggestions the first thought that jumps to mind is:
1971 was a very good year

 

^^yeah, so many great albums indeed. I'm tossing only two favourites by now:

Elton John - Madman Across The Water
Cat Stevens - Teaser And The Firecat

My all-time favourite is in the first page.

 

I think that’s the best year for UK music in the seventies.

 

But Roxy Music didn't come out until 1972.
My favorite UK album of 1971 would be Brain Capers by Mott The Hoople by a very wide margin. Only problem is it wasn't released here in the States until 1972, which is when I heard it.

One of my all-time favourite bands couldn't miss here either.

 

Good singles band.

Roxy or Mott?
For me they were always album bands.

 

Hunky Dory

 

Both actually. Early Mott island albums are good..WildLife.

 

My least favorite of the Island albums. Even getting the recent box set didn't warm me to it.

 

I like Bob Dylan myself.

 

The Prog Rockers are still poorly represented on here, methinks...

Sab - Master of Reality

 

Yeah, but The Nice is one of my fave bands too, love them!, so here goes their '71 release: Elegy
