I know it's not a movie, but I'd like V The Miniseries and The Final Battle to be released on Blu ray. They were shot to 35 mm. so they could be scanned to HD and get great picture quality, like Space 1999 or like Universal did ('though not restored) with the original Battlestar Galactica series.

1984! Of course, I'm baffled that hasn't been released as yet.

  10. FYI. I've seen a couple of mentions of The Station Agent.

It's currently being shown in "HD" on Showtime.

Fingers crossed for a release in that case. What with Peter Dinklage becoming known to an even wider audience through Game of Thrones I figured there may be slightly more interested in his other work...

    'The Dead'.
The last film directed by John Huston.
It was adapted from the short story written by James Joyce by his son Tony and his daughter Anjelica starred.
Without a doubt, the worst dvd I have ever bought.Ten minutes cut(why?) from a 20 year old Blockbuster Video vhs rental is how I would describe the picture quality.
It's slow and quiet with nothing but dialogue to move the story forward. But its also well acted and quite beautiful and beautifully filmed.I don't expect to ever see it on BD.

Likewise. The DVD (in North America) has been OOP for years.

Yeah, I've got it on PVR from an HD feed, but our cable channels have a fair amount of compression. Thanks for the heads-up, though!
I had hoped his stardom would help. Not so far, unfortunately.

Fingers crossed, though. It's one of my absolute favourite movies.

These have seen international BD releases and are likely to pop up eventually in North America, possibly licensed out. In fact Twilight Time has announced they're releasing 1984.

Am I the only one that wants more 3D movies on Blu-ray with the red-blue glasses than a couple Disney movies and jackaas3D? I won't jump to a 3D TV if there is only maybe a dozen titles worth getting.

Buffy/X-Files are probably both a year away if fans want to see it done properly/tastefully. They've aired the raw elements in HD, but still lots of post-production needed.

Parks & Recreation and Community are near the top of my list. There's a running theme here: NBC doesn't seem interested in Blu-rays.

30 Rock is another one. How does something like Ice Road Truckers get multiple seasons on blu-ray but little from NBC?

NBC has released the Hannibal TV series on Blu-ray. Obviously a different type of show, but there is some hope.

You might be. Having already leapt to 3-D TV, I'd be happy not seeing anaglyph 3-D again. Friday the 13th Part III is available in red/blue, but I'd much rather have a legit 3-D blu-ray of it.

Community and Arrested Development are only available in "real" HD (I don't count streaming) as pirated downloads.

For TV I'd add Streets of San Francisco and Kojak and The Rockford Files (with bonus Richie Brockelman episodes) to shows that could use a HD release.

Oh, and The Triplets of Belleville isn't out in Region 1 HD (except for streaming.)

My prediction: None of what we have mentioned here will ever be available in HD on media - and the last Blu-ray released will be The Complete Tenspeed and Brown Shoe collection with new made for TV movie (in 3-D) included.
