Haven't seen that movie, but (although it is a TV series) they did get the right actor, Jon Cryer, for Lex Luthor in the Arrowverse. He was great.

Yeah, no -- I was referring to who Zack Snyder cast for his role in Batman v Superman. AWFUL, awful decision to pander to the "weird, twitchy millennial" crowd.

Hands down, Alfred Molina as Dr. Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2.

Heck, for that matter, Rosemary Harris as Aunt May and Cliff Robertson as Uncle Ben in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy...

All looked like they stepped right off the pages of the comics (including Kirsten Dunst as MJ).

Cox's creepily subdued performance was unfortunately overshadowed by Hopkin's showy (but nonetheless unforgettable) one. I must say that Mads Mikkelsen completely won me over with his work, which seems to me is much more true to the character as written by Harris.

    Boris Karloff as Frankenstein’s monster.

He actually was able to convey some pathos and humanity for the monster instead of the monster being a big unsympathetic lug.

I know I used this reply a few minutes ago on the Last Movie You Watched thread, but it's correct for both - just watched John Huston's Wise Blood yesterday, and Brad Dourif was exactly right in the Hazel Motes role. Of course, Ned Beatty, Harry Dean Stanton, and Amy Wright ain't miscast either.

If we're talking about getting it right with an actor playing Lex Luthor, the hands down winner is Gene Hackman. He was perfectly cast in Superman 1 and 2.

The Bad News Bears has two. Can't imagine anyone better than Walter Matthau and Tatum O'Neal in their roles.

I just watched Arsenic and Old Lace again a couple of weeks ago. It’s one of my favorite comedies .

I think Peter Lorre was the perfect guy to play Dr. Epstein and he’s really funny in the movie and gives a wonderful performance.
