I most enjoyed Treme. Another of David Simon's shows that slowly gathers dramatic force and goes deep into a locale (N.O.L.A post Katrina in this case) Treme

I've only seen the US version. That most be a very old post... They've now finished 10 seasons and the next season will be the last. Lost a little luster as it went on, but still a darkly funny, gritty show I highly enjoy.

I'm not a big super hero fan, but recently finished "The Boys", kind of anti-heroes, and almost finished with "Watchmen", vigilantes with a lot of science fiction thrown in. Both are great.

Person of Interest - the first three seasons.

The theme is pervasive and constant surveillance, and how it can be used and misused. It's kind of a modern-day A-Team, where a small group of well-trained professionals tries to help out regular people stuck in horrifying situations. The catch is that a computer has determined that *something* bad will happen, but it won't say exactly what or why. So it's also a bit of a detective show.

The writing is a bit uneven - some of it gets pretty cheesy at times, but it's usually brilliant. The characters make the show - none of them are one-dimensional or superficial. The recurring antagonists, in particular, are brilliant. In the first three seasons there are three separate storylines that interleave together and, more or less, resolve fairly cleanly. A fourth storyline dominates the last couple of seasons and is comparatively weak.

OMG - that was insanely brilliant!!

Great writing, acting, cast in general (actors from Sopranos/Westworld/Fargo/Breaking Bad etc), directing, everything worked.

And has one of the best lines in TV show history - by Lieutenant Cole upon learning that her body (& that of all of her crewmates) are missing genitalia in the digital game she is now trapped in:

"Stealing my pusssy is a RED FCKING LINE!!!"

    LOL :D

If the rest of this show is anywhere near this good guess I will have to watch it, despite my preference for escaping into a TV show that has ongoing character/storyline arcs.

Lieutenant Cole looked way cuter in her Star Trek outfit.

That episode deserved its own series. :)

Worth watching for the amazing lead actress and all the characters that she plays, but IMO went downhill fast the longer it went on.

One thing I’ll say about Black Mirror DVD design .. not impressed. Guess don’t judge a book by the cover.

Don’t know myself. Seen loads of posters about last year splattered about everywhere on advertisements on buses even for season 1.

I to liked the period design. Also the location, found it a little boring though.

What happened to the movie version with Bruce Willis ?

Well ..not stylish enough. As is ..for a dystopian fun bag series it had stunning episodes, most of them imo.
