    Another Side of Bob Dylan

A Trick of the Tail UK first
    And Then There Were Three
    Duke
    Abacab all for $3
Some copy of Aqualung for $1 that was very damaged

I didn't have a turntable, got one later that year - this year I bought a new turntable and have spent at least $500 on LPs alone...

I assume this is referring to LP records, so pardon me for being born after the format was dead.

I think they were Revolver, Magical Mystery Tour, The Wall, Time (E.L.O) and Paradise Theatre (Styx) when I was six in 1981.

damn, you guys have good memories...

it's bit foggy but from what i recall :

i've got my (own) 1st turntable sometime in '84. i headed straight to the mall and got...

    Queen - Live Killers
    Rod Stewart - Absolutely Live

i remember them being rather costly (for 12 year old ~) since both were double albums.

then the next trip to the mall, i got 2 hot new albums at the time, both of which i played to death that summer.

Bruce Springsteen - Born In The USA
    Prince - Purple Rain

i don't remember what the 5th was but so began my adventure ~

now, i actually remember my 1st 5 cassette purchases even though that's prior to vinyl (1982~83).

Rod Stewart - Tonight I'm Yours
    Queen - Greatest Hits
    Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
    Hall & Oates - H2O

damn, i don't remember the 5th here either. guess i was a big Queen/Rod Stewart fan in my elementary school days.

i also remember my 1st 2 CD purchases when i finally got my CD player (around late '87)

Elton John - Live in Australia
    Billy Joel - Koheupt

unlike cassette which i stopped buying completely once i got my turntable, i still bought vinyl even after the CD player....sole reason being because it was cheaper (~).
i spent most of the 90's trying to upgrade all my vinyl into CDs....spent gazillion on it and that is why i REFUSE to go back to vinyl even to this day :shake:

Started buying LPs in 1964. I turned 13 that May. It was a long time ago, so there's some guess work involved, but this list is probably pretty close to the reality:
    1. The Dave Clark Five - Glad All Over
    2. The Dave Clark Five - Return
    3. The Beach Boys - Little Deuce Coupe
    4. The Ventures - Walk Don't Run
    5. The Ventures - Lets Go

Where are the Beatles? Back then, my sister bought the Beatles' albums, so I didn't have to.

I cannot remember the first 5 CDs I bought, but I can remember the first 5 LPs I bought which was about 20 years earlier.
    1. Elvis' Gold Records Vol. 4
    2. Elvis' Golden Records Vol. 3
    3. Elvis' Gold Records Vol. 2
    4. How Great Thou Art
    5. Spinout
    6. Clambake

I mention 6 because I bought the last two on the same day.

I bought them in stereo even though I only had a mono record player (fitted with a stereo stylus) because I was think ahead. I bought my first stereo 6 years later. Besides by then mono was being phased out and mono and stereo records cost the same in 1968.
