A couple food stores in my area sell budget CDs. Most of the discs are on small labels, but I have seen sealed copies of the Canadian pressing of The Who Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy for $7. This disc, of course, has Steve's mastering. If you need this disc, check your local food stores. You may find a bargain!

Someone hasn't snagged this one yet? Well I'm surprised as it's some of Steve's great work with a version of Boris The Spider that's to die for.

Dave, I think he's just advertizing the CD as being available at the store. I don't think he has the actual CD for sale. Unless I'm dreaming all this.

  4. I just noticed those at the Food Emporium in CT. I perused the racks and saw "Who's Missing" and the Doors "Waiting for the Sun", plus a couple of early Eagles pressings, all "non-remastered", for $6.99. Somebody's dumping really old stock.

EDIT: Or new Canadian stock. :)

Barnes & Noble here has been carrying Steve's MBBB for years, and for only $10.99(which is a bargain for THAT store! ).

Silly question, but how can we ID Steve's MBBB? Is there a Canadian version that does NOT use his mastering?

From what I remember from a prior thread, all CD versions of MBBB are Steve's.

This could be confused with the Canadian "Who's Next".

Just to be clear, I do not have a copy for sale. I am just saying that I have seen copies at local food stores and that some of you may be able to find it too.

I just found this -- finally -- at Best Buy. Only $11. Every tune kills all my other versions. Thanks Steve!

I wouldn't go that far. This is certainly no DCC disc. While I'm sure Steve did the best he could, some of the songs are from not so good sources. I will say that "I Can't Explain" sounds better here than on any other CD I've ever heard.

I don't have any DCC titles. All I have are the domestic MCA/Universal titles and the Max R&B Box. I do have a nice German Who Are You...

I'm happy I found it for lunch money prices.
