Aside from the oval Capitol Records logo (that I've always loved), yes they are. They aren't very creative nor imaginative.
I just hope they do some decent masterings, I could fill some gaps in my collection. I don't want to pass away before the MFSL's get released.
That was my Amazing Kreskin imitation. Here in the US, the new Valentine's Day release will be titled SINATRA, WITH LOVE. Release date is January 28, 2014. Amazon.com link: http://amzn.com/B00HDOXZP8
Martin, Fascinating stuff! But the second link doesn't work. Can you please have a look-see? THANKS! Now the whole site is down...so it's not your link...NEVERMIND!

It seems to me this is an attempt to combine some well-known Capitol tunes with some lesser-known Reprise tracks. Song selection by committee, no doubt. It's refreshing to see a Sinatra Valentine's comp without "My Funny Valentine," for a change.
OMG !!! I just can't believe this is the next release. What are the possibilities of something rare or unreleased. What a mish mosh.
Not quite "ugly", as much as "not very unique or original" for our chairman of the board ... http://wilshireit.com/bing2012/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/BCArchiveLogo.jpg
I believe this is the first time "My Foolish Heart"—Frank's final Reprise vocal from 1988—has been released officially outside of the suitcase. (There was also a very rare alternate take, so who knows? That might be a possibility.)
As far as album cover "originality" or uniqueness, this could pass for an early Reprise cover. What's next? Cut out heads again? "Frank" and "Splank"???????
It looks like what I own now is all I'm going to own for a long time. I suspect this new combination will yield nothing but an endless stream of themed compilation albums aimed at the casual fan. If there was a Dr. Ebbetts of Frank Sinatra product I would probably become a customer. I had really been looking forward to the cancelled MOFI releases particularly "In the Wee Small Hours". Of course, maybe I'll be wrong and it will yield a treasure chest of great new remasters.
Too bad Mr. Sinatra didn't record "Down With Love." Although Judy did it well, I would have loved to hear it with that Sinatra touch.
This is a tough room. What would you expect of a Valentine's Day compilation? At least this one is not a pure rehash of the multiple such arrows from Cupid's quiver that they've shot before.
I wasn't thinking tempo/arrangement/etc. - the song itself is too sad for this. Even my favorite version - the live '59 one with Norvo - as "charged" as it is throughout almost the whole song, even ends sadly.
