Funny Comedies?

What are your favorite funny comedies that you enjoy watching? Mine would have to be this:



It's a really funny movie with a lot of great lines and memorable scenes.

I'll go with ' This Is Spinal Tap '
Just thinking about some of the scenes and dialogue makes me laugh.
It may not be for everybody but if it's for you it demands to be among your favourite comedy movies.

 

Get this- I've never seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I draw a blank on the pop culture of the 1980s in general, truth to tell. Other than some of the music. (I've never seen the Reagan era pimp comedy Risky Business, either.)

 

I'm surprised that you've never even seen the movie.

I've seen both but I guess I'm too old. Both fell flat for me. I'd suggest a Best Comedy Oscar but since they're all old people like me they would never get it right.

 

This is not for everybody either. But it is my all time favorite comedic film.

 

Top 5 for me:

• Animal House
• Withnail and I
• The Blues Brothers

Most honorable mention to This is Spinal Tap and a few of the Monty Python movies.

 

Worth the fish-in-platform-shoes scene alone!

 

Airplane! - don't like a joke? No worries another 10'll be along in the next couple of seconds for you to take your pick from.

 

Sorry To Bother You is too much of a spot-on scathing satire to qualify as a simple, unfreighted "comedy." But I definitely got laughs out of it.

 

Young Frankenstein is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

You can't lose with a a Mel Brooks script and a cast like this:

I don't think I've laughed harder at movie in the past 10 years. Here's an outtake.

Contains perhaps the funniest ad lib line in comedy, from Gene Hackman: "I was going to make espresso"

Just floors me.

 

Back to the Future, for the win.
