Gap Band Outstanding 12" single, dropout in sound?

    I've been transferring a lot of my 12" singles to digital and I came across The Gap Band - Outstanding . Side 1 plays great with no dropouts in sound Side 2's instrumental has dropouts in the sound on the left channel throughout the song. I checked YouTube and the two video posted on there sound very similar with the same dropouts. It kind of sounds like someone didn't know how to configure the noise gate threshold or the master tape was copied very poorly. Any ideas?
