track 9) Are We Still Making Love Are we still making love Or is it just part of the game Have we both had enough Of life being the same Are we still making love It's so hard to say no And though things might be rough Maybe it's time to let go Our life's come full circle now again We lived life so fast we thought it couldn't end And though we hurt each other so All we had to know Was how our heartaches began Are we still making love Or is it just part of the game Have we both had enough Of life being the same Are we still making love It's so hard to say no And though things might be rough Maybe it's time to let go I've had some good love now and then I know I've stumbled but I've gotten up again And some how the good times that we had They don't out weigh the bad Oh how can we bring it to an end Are we still making love Or is it just part of the game Have we both had enough Of life being the same Are we still making love It's so hard to say no And though things might be rough Maybe it's time to let go Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Carla Olson Are We Still Making Love lyrics © BMG Rights Management
track 10) Why Did You Leave Me Today For so long we worked so hard We didn't have a dime But we had one anothers love And that was all the time. Then one day our ship came in The answer to our dreams A mansion filled with social life And gold and limousines. Why did you leave me today I was going to give you the world I watched my dream slip away All I can say why did you leave today. As I walked through these grand old halls I feel so cold inside I stare upon these grand old walls And all the costly prizes I realize I gladly trade them, these worldly things To lie beside you one more time And share only our dreams. Why did you leave me today I was going to give you the world I watched my dream slip away All I can say why did you leave today. track 11) Don'y It Make You Wanna Go Home (Joe South) Yes it does...wonderful. Perfect closer. Oh the whippoorwill roosts on the telephone pole And the Georgia sun goes down Well it's been a long time But I'm glad to say I'm Goin' back down to my home town Goin' down to the Greyhound station Gonna buy me a one way fare Good lord willin' and the creek don't rise By tomorrow I'll be right there Don't it make you want to go home now Don't it make you want to go home All God's children get weary when they roam Don't it make you want to go home But there's a six-lane highway down by the creek Where I went skinny dippin' as a child And a drive-in show where the meadow used to grow And strawberries used to grow wild There's a drag strip down by the riverside Where my grandma's cow used to graze Now the grass don't grow and the river don't flow Like it did in my childhood days Don't it make you want to go home now Don't it make you want to go home All God's children get weary when they roam Don't it make you want to go home Don't it make you want to go home Don't it make you want to go home now Don't it make you want to go home All God's children get weary when they roam Don't it make you want to go home Don't it make you want to go home Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Joe South Don't It Make You Want to Go Home lyrics © The Bicycle Music Company
Another thread to enjoy that was started a while back... (1) GENE CLARK & CARLA OLSON–So rebellious friends! Gene taught me so much... | Steve Hoffman Music Forums
It's a very solid album, they make a good duo together. Would have been nice if they had recorded more material together.
At lest we got a double CD live set in 2007 that is fantastic from Collector's Choice Music, which includes the previous brilliant UK release on CD, the live set, "Silhouetted In Light": AllMusic Review by Mark Deming Gene Clark was one of the most gifted singers and songwriters of his generation, but bad luck and self-destructive habits followed him like a shadow, and it seemed sadly appropriate that he died in the spring of 1991 as he was working on a follow-up to the biggest success of his solo career, So Rebellious a Lover, his 1987 collaboration with Carla Olson of the Textones. Clark's poor health (aggravated by drinking) and fear of flying prevented a full-scale tour in support of So Rebellious a Lover, but he played scattered live dates after its release, and In Concert gathers recordings from shows Clark gave in late 1988 and early 1990. Disc one features seven songs Clark performed on the radio series Mountain Stage; the announcer opens the set by informing the audience that Clark was unable to rehearse with the show's house band due to his flight arriving late, but Clark delivers strong and passionate solo acoustic interpretations of five numbers (including the masterful "Tried So Hard") and later sits in with the band for two songs, with the musicians lending subtle but effective support. The disc closes out with three rehearsal recordings with Olson taped at Clark's home; the fidelity is fair at best, but the harmonies are strong and the music heartfelt, if casual. Disc two is devoted to a concert Clark and Olson played at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, which was previously released in the U.K. as Silhouetted in Light. The show is intimate, with Clark and Olson joined only by guitarist Duane Jarvis and bassist David Provost, whose accompaniment is fine but spare. Clark is in splendid voice for this show, and he delivers a set that spans the length of his career, from the Byrds to So Rebellious a Lover, with a few well-chosen covers thrown in; Olson remains in the background much of the time, but she's there when the music needs her, and her presence is an immeasurable asset to this performance. It's not difficult to emphasize the failures of Gene Clark's career rather than his successes, but this set makes the case that regardless of the size of his audience (or his salary), Clark made beautiful and truly individual music, and In Concert preserves two evenings in which he gave his all to his listeners
After he left the Byrds, Gene Clark's solo career had its ups and downs on record, but right to the very end he was performing for audiences transfixed by the power of his songwriting and by the passion of the man. With this 'Collectors' Choice Music' exclusive, we bring you a mixture of rare and unreleased live material, much of it with his performing partner of the 80's, ex-Textones leader Carla Olson. The first disc features a completely unreleased solo performance taped for the Mountain Stage radio show in West Virginia from 1988; songs include 'Silver Raven; Tried So Hard; My Marie; Rodeo Rider; Gypsy Rider; Train Leaves Here This Morning', and 'Hear the Wind'. To that performance we've added three rare tracks that only appeared previously on Rhino's 1987 version of the Gene Clark & Carla Olson studio album, 'So Rebellious a Lover'; recorded in Gene's living room in 1989, the songs are 'Number One Is to Survive; Mary Sue', and 'Del Gato'. And disc two squeezes the entire double-album (minus some between-song chatter) of Gene and Carla's 1990 performance at McCabe's Guitar Shop that only saw an overseas release as 'Silhouetted in Light'; songs include 'Your Fire Burning; Number One Is to Survive; Love Wins Again; Fair & Tender Ladies; Photograph; Set You Free This Time; Last Thing on My Mind; Gypsy Rider; Train Leaves Here This Morning; Almost Saturday Night; Del Gato; I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better; She Don t Care About Time; Speed of the Sound of Loneliness; Will the Circle Be Unbroken', and 'Here Without You'. One of the great songwriters of our time. -Amazon Track Listings Disc: 1 1. Silver Raven 2. Tried So Hard 3. My Marie 4 Rodeo Rider 4. Gypsy Rider 5. Train Leaves Here This Morning 6. Though Gene is often portrayed as not well read at all, especially during his Byrds tenure, and later in life...he was seen as never reading at all... it is worth noting that his mother was very strong in her determination to give her children a strong grasp of vocabulary and proper english beginning very early in life... And all of her 13 children were encouraged to be voracious readers of imaginative books -- their faves were about pirates and adventurers, like Robin Hood...a real fave of Gene's. Gene and his siblings elaborately acted out all those books in the surrounding wooded acres, Robin Hood, Sinbad the Sailor making their own wooden swords and outfits, setting up a "stage" on fallen trees as ships, in clearings, or on their overturned dining table to perform plays they came up with...Gene was the leader in these imaginative performances and play acting. The kids also practiced other fine arts...one of them Gene actually became very good at: knife throwing, hurling a kitchen knife at Tide Boxes, until mom to her horror discovered the practice, and put an immediate end to it. Later on, Gene was fond of demonstrating his keen knife throwing talent to his various bandmates who could only look on in disbelief and fear. Plus: From an early age the Clark family was very musical...Gene's father was a fine guitarist and harp player and taught Gene. The whole family would gather for sing alongs, playing a few various instruments and singing together, in their tiny house or on the front porch. Also of note: Though Gene hated his strict Catholic schooling -- nuns had no problem disciplining the kids with rulers cruelly applied to their forearms -- Gene excelled with top marks in English (credit his mom) and history (again his mom) throughout his school years. Both influences, his mom and pop, and his vivid imagination, served Gene well in his songwriting and lyric abilities...his fertile imagination combined with his love for words made for magically brilliant music.

From Clarkophile: Kai Clark — Silver Raven (a tribute to his father, Gene Clark) Wonderful vocals and treatment by Kai. Gypsy Rider, one of Gene's most beautiful songs, is stunning in the hands of Kai. His vocal delivery is so like his pop's...goosebumps.
And this 8 minute stunner is so great...I'd swear it was Gene. In Kai's case, his covers are just enough his own to not make them redundant. Full of emotion. But not so different to make them grating like so many artist's tribute covers. With the amazing Carl Olson & brilliant Byron Berline on fiddle. Your Fire Burning
