Older GG threads seemed closed. My wife and preteen daughter are watching the high school years and tonight there is an episode in season two where Rory skips school to go to NYC. She and Jess go to a record store with a grizzled owner who has one line. I swear it was Lou Reed but turns out it is Chuck Weiss.

I had no idea who he is at the time, but sounds familiar. Turns out he is Chuck E. from "Chuck E.'s In Love."

and for some reason Seth McFarland is in the episode, too.

Those high school years (first 3 seasons) were the best episodes of the entire series, imo.

I watched the 4 Netflix episodes for the first time at the weekend.
They were great, apart from the Rory storyline.
Rory was the top in her class at high school and Yale. But yet she is struggling at the basics of how to make it in journalism.
The scriptwriters are also struggling with the basics of journalism.
Nope, cannot accept that as realism.
