I already have an original pressing of their first S/T album on Atlantic. What I mostly did not have were their later albums, and I'm not motivated to hunt down vinyl for those. I am a fan enough, however, to spend $8 to get all of them in digital form so I can at least listen to them in their entirety finally.
Okay, I am now half-regretting posting the Spinners mp3 deal. What a mess the mastering is. I'm not sure what the mastering engineer did, but I'll just describe what I'm hearing. The album tracks that were never singles sound like a decent mp3 from master tape should. Most of the singles sound like they have had processing added. To my ears, it sounds like a bad digital plug-in labeled "vinyl" (I played with one on my phone before) that seems to just make the midbass bloated. Beyond that, I doubt that one of the biggest hits (I'll Be Around) even came from tape. I've had this song on a variety of cds and I've never heard this song sound this bad. So maybe I'd still recommend it as a cheap way to get some of their other album tracks (I really didn't know their disco era stuff beyond the hits, and I'm amazed at how different they sound on tracks like Disco Ride), but if you don't already have the hits and are hoping this is a good way to get them all cheap I'd say look elsewhere.
Ju Just ordered this off Amazon. Thanks. Seems like there are two versions on vinyl. I got one for a round 13 bucks there is another version that is $10 more the CD was about 24 bucks. I got this as well as a Blue Note tone poet album as a rec from another thread in this forum. Both just happened to be Amazon warehouse deal type things thanks all appreciate all the info on new artists.

There is also a three LP version with a lot of demos, live recordings, etc. Not in print for long and very tough to find. Amazon has a few copies in the 60 dollar range.
even cheaper via popmarket on discogs, 66 bucks shipped: Jimi Hendrix - West Coast Seattle Boy: The Jimi Hendrix Anthology: 8xLP, Comp, Ltd, Num + Box For Sale | Discogs
Or... It could be the same popmarket mistake where they listed an Emmylou Harris box for a great price and shipped a single album. Ooooops! :--)
I got this one it was about 15 bucks. I still didn't listen to it so I sold it to my local store. it's a decent performance but it's probably better served watching it rather than listening to it.
