A couple of new markdowns on Amazon: The Building 'Petra' is a solo album from a member of War On Drugs (not the main guy). it ain't $10 but the amazon exclusive white vinyl verson of adele's latest is down to $18. that's over 50% off of what they were selling it for at the outset even though the product page now claims the list price is $24: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HVTKLPQ
Not sure what the price was when Black Elk posted way back when, but I’m guessing the 11LP super deluxe vinyl box of Wilco’s “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot” was not 41% off, for a price of $147 back in July. It is now! Strike quick if interested! https://www.amazon.com/Yankee-Hotel...kee+hotel+foxtrot+super+deluxe,aps,325&sr=8-1
Wow! That low back then? Crazy. Sometimes I think they may partially do it to themselves? If you do a search for “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot Super Deluxe”, and click on the first match, the Super Deluxe doesn’t even appear. Just the Deluxe. If you click on the 2nd option, it does appear. $13 difference between the 7LP and 11 LP options, or $3.25 per LP.
Sad, but now that it's out, it's not that surprising. I'm an enormous fan and I'm glad it's out there, but even I have to admit that it makes me appreciate the final choices they ultimately made exponentially, boiling it down to the best ideas. It's really a testament to how mixing can make or break an album this complex. Book's great though.
Got my Animals record. Slightly warped, screwed up center hole, pressed off center. Going back. Defect rate of my last 20 new vinyl purchases is around 50%. And I'm not trying to be picky on them. Mentally, I try to overlook problems but it's becoming a joke.
Thanks for the tip on Rustin Man - it arrived yesterday. My "wrong record in LP mailer story": I also ordered Neil Young's Royce Hall 1971 record as it was under $15. The mailer had a Royce Hall sticker over an Olivia Rodriguez "Sour" sticker. The box actually contained the Neil Young Dorothy Chandler record! (I see that's now down to $16.31.) I'll hang on to this since the setlist is almost identical, and look for another deal on Royce Hall.
Just a quick 'Thank You' to @DapperGentleman for the excellent posts on the DD thread. I shagged the Gus Gus and the Myrkur (Love the way her soft, moody voice is overlaid against the metal stuff) Thank you Sir!
Just curious ... Are you referring to the stand-alone LP or the LP included in the "Deluxe Box" with the vinyl and CD / DVD / Blu-ray?
I think the "Animals" LP being referred to is by The Animals, not Animals by Pink Floyd. Is that correct, @ron/asheton?
I believe it is. I saw The Animals LP in Walmart over the weekend. No sign of Pink Floyd anywhere. Although 4-5 years ago I found Animals (PF) at Walmart for $14.99 and it was an instant buy for me.
