What did I miss? I picked up a lot (15) of the Blue Note 3 for 2 deals, but did not see much mentioned here. Was there a better deal somewhere else?

Blue note has been running sales this whole last week or so including 30% off on everything!

sounds about right. buying from popmarket by way of discogs is high risk.

Yeah I think I’ve done it once but I certainly don’t make a habit of it.

yea I saw that, but Amazon had a 20% - 35% off deal normal plus the 3 for 2 deal on some certain Blue Note titles

In typical discogs fashion, this was just the regular 2LP version. Thanks popmarket.

I’m assuming this is what I’ll get too. Popmarket did this to me once in the past and I had to file a claim with PayPal because they were so slow to sort it out.

I thought popmarket was better than this. I regret posting about it. My apologies to everyone who (like me) bought this instead of the other deal.

Yeah, a lot do for sure. But then you get stuff like Chet Baker Sings… it’s hard to know which ones to pull the trigger on and which ones to wait out sometimes.

Yeah, I suspect that the casual collector only chose one version or the other, and among the non-audiophile world, stereo with bonus cuts probably wins out over mono. Still, I’m surprised as well.

They did push back summer TP releases and we didnt have any TPs all summer until this one, im sure this took up a lot of their press time and they made a boatload

Is that one ever coming back? If it does, it feels like it's going to sell out instantly unless they press 10,000 of them.

According to Joe Harley, the whole series is meant to stay in print. So by that logic, it should be coming back, and the source doesn’t get any more credible in this case. But as to when and how quickly it will sell out all over again? Who knows. Pressing plants are still pretty backed up AFAIK and they probably want to press new titles rather than repress existing ones based on how long it has been.

Ah good point, I had totally forgotten about that part. And there’s little to no chance that Tone Poet jackets will be printed elsewhere at this point.

  23. Insane to me if they won’t repress great music because of a backlog on way overrated jackets (IMO). I’d pay $5 more to have the pictures on an insert with a single pocket sleeve. The Stoughton gatefolds are way over kill for a single disc 33 and I don’t even find them that nice, personally. I know many will disagree.

single pocket tip ons for these would be best, the few that are like that like Joe Pass are perfect.
