Good new/used CDs shops in Manhattan

    I'm going to NYC for the Allmans later this month, and have some time to kill while I'm there, so I want to scour the island for some cool CDs, mostly rock & jazz. I figure, since I'm already spending a fortune to hang in Manhattan for a week to see 3 concerts by the same band, why not spend a ton of extra cash on CDs, right?! Any suggestions on good, non-chain stores I can check out?

    It's been a while....

    Check the yellow pages (a standard operating procedure for me! ;) ) for places around the University. I found a few pretty good ones a few years ago. One had 90% boots in it! Rather pricy, though - and I think they cracked down on places like that.

    I'm sure others will have more intelligent answers for you.... !!

    Dan IIRC ,there's a thread or two with some excellent suggestions, try a search on NYC or Manhattan.
