I really think we're going to get 1978-04-16 sooner than later

Arrived today, super high number (21xxx) so it's probably sourced from a 128kbps MP3.

They send the highest numbers to Canadians because they know that they're too polite to make a big fuss about it.

Someone mentioned a Fox Box from October 72, but I've been reading about this run and I guess the question is are 10/17 and 10/19/72 good enough? Clearly 10/18 must surface eventually but there are plenty of detractors regarding the idea of a box set from this run.

I think we get a spring 78 box in the next year or two. We might get two box sets eventually. There certainly seem to be enough shows for that. Maybe even three if the January shows are available.

Sorry to break everyone’s hearts, but expect more box sets from the Touch-head era. The Giants Stadium box sold out fast. The “I was there” factor cannot be denied. It moves units.

I wouldn't complain about another touch-era box or two. It's not like they're going to stop releasing vintage boxes because of it.

I don't know how much there is out there from the stadium era, though. An RFK box (like the Giants box) would be great, but the 1989 and 1991 shows have already been released.

An Alpine box (not a stadium, obvs) would probably not disappoint too many people, and seems like a likely possibility.

Otherwise, what are they left with? Maybe some "best of tour" boxes (*cough* summer 1985 *cough*)? But again, with the stuff that's already been released from 1989-1991, I don't know how much they could pull without double-dipping.

They don’t mind double dipping. They’ve done it before, especially releasing stuff that had previously been out on bonus discs.

Lemieux essentially said at the end of his Seaside Chat for the June 76 Box Set that there was another Box Set in the works for later on this year. That is assuming things didn't get delayed from the shutdown.

I doubt it would be a big Box Set, more like a 3 - 4 show deal. We are due for some 72 that's for sure. It would be pretty awesome if in the upcoming days they announce a 72 Fox Box just in time to arrive for the anniversary. We'll see. My current list of Box Set wants are listed below:

    April 69 (4-4/5/6/21/22/23)
    Fox 72 (10-17/18/19-72)
    October 73 (10-21/23/25/29/30)
    Winterland 77 (3-18/19/20)
    April 78 (the unreleased Betty's)
October 89 (multi-tracks of most of the unreleased shows)
Greek Theatre (a show from each run 1981 - 1989)

Possibly, but we've all known that's coming for the past few years since they announced they were remastering all the studio albums and including a live show around the 50th Anniversaries...his wording on the chat felt different like there was a surprise up their sleeves. Time will tell! One can hear for themselves starting at 15:17 here:

And if they produce another box with that quality, I'll almost certainly buy it.
And a chunk of the 1990 show too (which was my first show). I don't believe 1990 or 1991 were multitracked so they're probably as good as they're going to get.
This could be a real winner, with redone video and well-mixed audio.

I'm torn between at least four of your suggestions and the St. Louis box in bold. They can skip the Arch-shaped packaging, though.

That was one of my top choices before 8-25 was released as DVP #24. It seemed like such an obvious choice to me that I’m convinced they must still be missing a few reels here and there from the run where it couldn’t be complete anyway.

I’m sure we’ll get 8-24 released at some point and probably another.

This is from February. I hear nothing here that's inconsistent with the AB and WD anniversary editions. "We have a big year coming up, 2020, archivally."

Amazing PiTB from 10-17, some highlights from 10-19 including Bird Song and parts of Other One. More than that I do not recall.

The sooner they get everything released from 1972 the better.

Also, let’s get away from this limited edition crap and go to digital offerings AND a streaming service.

When I watched this back in January I thought he was alluding to another boxset. After watching it agIn just now and thinking we just had Workingmans come out and Anerican Beauty will be out soon I now think he was referring to those releases and not another boxset this year. Beauty, the last Daves of the year and new DP subscriptions should fill out the rest of the year just fine.
