Usually filler vs no filler doesn't bother me, but there is just something about all of May 77 being released save 50 minutes that drives me crazy. Yes, I know one show still isn't realease...I'm sure they'll get to it.

 

It should have been a free digital download and never discussed again.

 

I went straight to "U.S. Blues" and listened to it first, 'cause they left me hanging for 3 months.

 

Right I feel sorry for that May 77 stuff having to share the bill with that 1990 US Blues. It's like The Monkees opening for Hendrix!

 

It was actually Hendrix who opened for the Monkees.

 

There are three shows from the Palladium and one from Atlanta that haven't been released IIRC.

 

I can't even tell a joke right!

 

Not sure my wallet would survive that. Buying them all the first time was a challenge -- especially when I was replacing half of what I already had for free.

That being said -- the original Spring 90 shows sit very uncomfortably alongside their multitrack bretheren...

Still waiting on notification, I'm assuming I'm in the "not notified til I've already listened to it three or four times" demographic.

 

Still no shipping notification for me either, but I’m glad to know that others have. Sooner or later it will come.

I’m also ready for everything they have from May 77’ to be officially released. Actually I would love to see the entire Spring 77’ tour officially released. I can only imagine that even the lesser shows are still amazing.

 

I want the Spectrum......Philly.

 

I'd take any Philly show, for sure, but I'm looking forward to some fall '77 when we get back to that year, eventually.

I'm okay with the US Blues extra.

I'm disappointed that there was nothing else. I haven't heard the show, but I am certainly looking forward to it. But I will certainly rate the show higher than the "release", if you know what I mean. Missed opportunity.

 

Between the two May box set, the 2 Dick Picks, 2 Dave Picks, To Terrapin, are we missing anything from May, 1977?

 

I’ve heard talk of this “other” music. Still not sure I believe it exists.

 

Yeah, 01/05/77, 03/05/77 and 04/05/77 from The Palladium, NYC, NY; Fox Theatre, Atlanta, GA, 18/05/77; the U.S Blues encore from Lakeland Civic Centre Arena, Lakeland, FL, 21/05/77 (DP’s #29); and about 1/3rd of Hollywood Sportatorium, Pembroke Pines, FL, 22/05/77 (DP’s #3).

 

So my follow up question: Was May, 77 the most predigious Dead month ever?
