Ha ha - I also screwed up! But I bought the CD's and meant to get the digital DL. I was so distracted by having to wipe the drool from the floor I clicked on the wrong item. I already entered a cancel order so I'll see how this goes.
I'm in for the box. These shows are all new too me, but I love the idea of these geographical sets spread across a few years and 71-73 is one hell of a hreat spread to be across. Really looking forward to this one, right in my wheel house but basically unfamiliar shows going to be an awesome October! Thinking on the 5 LP as well but may wait. Portland 74 and the second Cornell pressing are still around so im hoping this sticks around for a bit and I can grab later on if its a show im really enjoying. Great news!
Perhaps not that show, but a double dose of '85 (similar to Dave's 35 last year with 4-19 and 4-20-84) wouldn't necessarily be bad.
I did that with the Giants Stadium set and they managed to screw it up. Decided that going forward there’s no real reason to preorder digital stuff so I’ll just wait until actual release.
10 dollars a CD is not a cash grab. No junk added to the box to increase the price. I would pay more for certain additions, however, like having Bobby or Phil deliver it to my house. "...the band Kiss and his recently released “Gene Simmons: The Vault Experience.” It weighs 38 pounds, measures 17 by 25 inches, and includes 150 previously unreleased songs, an “In Gene We Trust” medallion, a leather-bound commemorative book, and more. The price is — gulp! — $2,000. And, if Simmons’ “Vault World Tour” includes a stop in your city, your two grand also gets you a backstage visit, photo and a Q&A with him. That is, unless you opt for the $25,000 Executive Producers Experience or the $50,000 Home Experience, which both include Simmons personally delivering his box set to you. The $50,000 package also lets you invite up to two dozen of your friends over for a party with him." CD and vinyl box sets are more varied and expansive than ever in record 2017 - The San Diego Union-Tribune (sandiegouniontribune.com)
I feel like there have been times in the past where the download option disappeared on or soon after release day. Could be imagining that but I recall being frustrated about it. Might drive me to pre-order the 24/192 closer to the street date.
I have had to cancel in the past and it was painless. Took a couple days to get confirmation email, but no issues.
I wish they'd offer a specially priced bundle of the CDs and the 192/24 FLAC files. I'd like the former for the packaging and the latter for the audio, and whichever I choose I'll end up wishing I'd bought the other.
