Been listening to this local rarity over my boombox, since I've had shoulder surgery and won't be able to operate my rig for a while, and I'd purchased this on Bandcamp a year ago, and it was 48 Khz 320 kbps mp3, so I couldn't burn it to CD-R. RABM (communist BM) a concept album dealing with the russian revolution; loud vocals over a slow, grinding, slightly crusty and doomy BM : boa branch locations
That atmospheric track. I want to know what the instrument is that is clearly in the background after 2:00. It sounds like it came from a Sergio Leone / Ennio Morricone soundtrack.
Pretty sure all the same versions of Colony are the same. And all the bands other albums except for Whoracle which all recent reissues of it starting with the 2009 reissue (as part of the Nuclear Blast Reloaded series) says its remastered.
what a painting! I'll check that out when home. I've gone all in with Tomb Mold to the tune of $4 for the four demos. An academic exercise listening to the songs before their final incarnations. Tomb Mold
For aficionados, at 5:50 the demo version of Cerulean Salvation. Like the scaffolding of a piece of furniture before being upholstered with plush rich sonic leather. The studio version, posted above, has the guitar reverb (2:38) tuned precisely to resonate with the pleasure centre of the brain. Vibrating the B-Spot.
Another artist who rests little is the always interesting Australian soloist Rebel Wizard and he's spat out another new EP. I think he's expanding his sound. $3.50 Hark! Hark! Hark!, by REBEL WIZARD (I only recently read the bandcamp policy and like 80% of money goes straight to the artist. That makes me feel good about spending there). July 19
One morning when I'm feeling bold I'll message them asking what it is. Wasn't it the case in the past you could look at the credits on the LP and see the obscure instruments following "guitar" or "vocals".
I asked: "Hi guys, utterly love the new album but my friends and I have a burning question. What is that instrument being playing during Phosphorene Ultimate? I said it sounds like it could come from a Sergio Leone / Ennio Morricone soundtrack. My friend thinks it's a slide whistle. Help us please. "
The Reply: "Hi there! I don’t think it’s a slide whistle. Let me ask Max and I will get back to you Max says it’s just processed voice and synth. I hope that’s a decent enough answer!"
Left Tomb Mold another question/request: "One final question. Will there be a High-Dynamic range edition released eventually, as some bands are now doing? Typically the compressed little DR5 gets a DR10 and the album becomes explosive and 3D. Band Horrendous knows this well. Planetary Clairvoyance deserves the best! Praying."
No, that's what we have now. A criminal DR5. "24-bit/48kHz FLAC" looks good though, doesn't it. 1996 was the last time they played live and I had to look that up because I wasn't sure when it was. I just knew they don't play live. Never say never but the only way I can imagine them playing live would be for some singular event if it was truly special like a Live Aid type festival for a world-saving cause, were there a European Metal stage.
So it's just a synth. I was hoping for some kinda exotic instrument, like a bone whistle for the Lapp Islands or something!
So say the alleged heavy guys... https://www.heavyblogisheavy.com/2019/07/23/heavy-blogs-top-25-albums-of-2019-so-far/?fbclid=IwAR2vltkmahekQMvgUJDPAlcTCom8O4670x-ArfYWXCg4ZDUwy-Z8Q9Xy0Oohttps://www.heavyblogisheavy.com/20...vgUJDPAlcTCom8O4670x-ArfYWXCg4ZDUwy-Z8Q9Xy0Oo What say you GRRRRRanimals?
I've only heard 14 of the 25 and that would have been brief listens. I own four Hath, Warforged, Ceremony of Silence, An Isolated Mind. Those guys wrote a great analysis a few years ago about year end lists. Was it the top 30 music sites' lists? Might have been 20. Anyway, they analyzed and interpreted that there are a lot of older styled music fans at the head of these sites. Legacy bands or older bands kinda got a pass into best lists. Not because they were older and established, though established is my suspicion, but because the music was older and more familiar. I also sometimes suspect being really extremely difficult can get you undeserved points. Here's 10 they didn't mention Abbath Abyssal Ataraxie Belzebubs Darkthrone Disentomb Funereal Presence Kaleiker Tomb Mold Vimur
So did anyone ever figure out who Beelzebubs are? I know Swano is involved on some level, but wasn't it heavily rumored that it was Insomnium incognito?
