Either ZZ Top are going metal, or The Metal God's going ZZ Top! It's probably just the cactus, though.

    I loved his book.

I did too. I loved the Freddie Mercury story! He paints a vivid picture of what it was like to be closeted and fronting a massive metal band in the 80s and the toll it took on him.

The Halford book in hardcover is oop with jacked prices and the paperback is out this Sept 28. There is Kindle but I don't have the hardware. A measly $100 but I just told myself to stop buying ****. So I'll wait for the paperback.

Enjoying Death Tribe. Compelled to look at lyrics because I had to know. I really liked the literary tragedy of "I got it when I lost my virginity" thinking a disease. I liked the tragic poetry of that, the doomed hero. Damn, the true meaning is different. I do also appreciate that the opening infectious riff does not go on for a full minute! DT's timing of 30 seconds is just perfect for the kick-in.

    Blacked Out (03:43 :righton:)
There is a thrill in every great and dark desire
An a-dre-na-line rush that runs through, your veins
It's that an-i-mal instinct that's, full of lust
That same instinct that keeps pumping up your blood

That same feeling i get, when i put it in
That same feeling i get, when you’re suffocating
it’s the feeling you get, when you fix a thrill
it’s the feeling you get, when you shoot to kill

The same feeling when you taste success

I got it when i lost my virginity
When i ****ed my teacher for the very first time
On the first threesome And kept searching
until i found the right beating of the drum
the one that only plays when i, drink, lots of rum

Until the rum was not enough and i stuck the needle in
Until my veins could take no more
So i searched for more until i was swallowed by the world
and there was nothing left to overcome

I am blacked out I am black, i am out
There’s a thrill in every great and dark desire
An a-dre-na-line rush that runs through, your veins
It is that an-im-al instinct that's, full of lust
That same instinct that keeps pumping up your blood
I am blacked out I am black, I am out I am blacked out I am black, I am out

Word of advice - do not get yourself a kindle.

Ever since I was given mine I've been reading more quantity and more often than ever before in my life. I could be using that time to do other things, but no! I keep going back to it and reading some more. It's madness.

Rivers of Nihil are back, lots of mood swings on this track (Clean), mastering is crushed when things get loud.

listening to the latest release, Where Owls Know My Name. One of the best tributes I can pay to any album, when its over you just want to spin it again.

"Straight blackened heat from the depths of Texas"

A very good rocking BM song (with silly video). Via bandcamp it sounds okay. Compressed but clear and without being too bright. Prophecies of Eternal Darkness, by Necrofier Oct 22

"The rise of American black metal cannot be ignored. The dark art of Houston’s NECROFIER carries this torch; embodying the hallmarks of classic, melodic black metal while embracing their Texas roots, and delivering total Southern darkness. The band is emerging from the shadows and chaos of 2020, ready to fan the unholy flames with their devastating debut full-length, ‘Prophecies of Eternal Darkness'."

If you're into microtonal black metal, this is quite bonkers.

There are passages that will try your patience but then there'll be a reward. After having my brains battered for a bit, a freaky guitar lead. From cacophony to space jazz to some serious rocking this is some kind of psycho-psychedelic cerebral death metal. More grooving than pummeling so its unchallenging in the confrontational sense. I think it's a carnival of metal fun. It's definitely far out there, man. Every song is a trip. Nice that the album ends excellently.

More Necrofier. This is song one from their debut Ep of 2018. It's just the EP and the coming album. I like them.

Cradle of Filth is back with a new one from their upcoming album, I was never a fan of this band something about the vocals always annoyed me due to Dani sounding like an angry crow most of the time. Anyhow the music on this track is varied with lots of twists and turns to keep things fresh, I'll give them kudos for that.
