Listened to the casually paced Noltem album. If downloading is your thing the album is free if you wish. Ascetic (Dissonant Black Metal), by NORSE (Australia)
I'm not sure yet if I'll buy this album, but this song is certainly trying to pry open my Paypal account:
Turns out that Atrae Bilis album is worth buying. Another of today's purchases: Promo 2021, by Paroxysm Unit Really high quality technical brutal death metal featuring the one and only Colin Marston. You guys can have that Blaine character...my fanboying is reserved exclusively for Colin.
Accidently set up for a fall? According to their bandcamp (edit: decided against naming names) this is "For fans of Horrendous, Morbus Chron, Bedsore, Obliteration." Those are big boys. Genius resides. This isn't even close. Though I wonder what I'd have thought without the taint of having read such a lofty comparison. Ha, I unfurled the handy lyrics for maximum impact, hoping. Hmmm, Morbus Chron. The beautiful melancholy of the instrumental intro track for the 2014 album and the mood that it sets. And not too long at 3 minutes.
I scrolled through my stuff three times trying to remember the Spanish band with similarly delicate intros. Spotted on a fourth try. Love this band.
Spotted on one of the runs. Again with the poetic openings Spoiler: spoiler then POW! I like the abrupt launch. ....spoiler
This is as awesome as it is raw: (It's more hardcore than black/death, but it's great stuff so deal with it.)
Another raw slab of awesomeness, this time more on topic for the thread: (What is up with the Bandcamp pricing?)
It can't be doom. I like it. It does pick up the pace so it's not entirely doom. Whatever it is it is stately. The guitar solos are lovely. Class stuff. Nov 19 Tide Turns Eternal, by Dream Unending Song #3
Getting lots of play. Not particularly cold or lean 'n mean instead it has a good deal of groove. Offhand I can't think of any BM I like more this year.

It's like there is a person walking around the room with the microphone until they find the best spot to record. I like it, it reminds me of my old days jamming out with a band in the basement.
