Yes, and while that was up your real password didn't work.

Since this site doesn't ask for your email address or credit card info, it's hard to tell what this person was after.

Be careful - it is possible that those messages that you got when "trying to enter this forum" were not really from "microsoft" per se. I don't think microsoft would know or cares that this forum had a security incident. I would be very suspicious.

Tried to change my password and something went wrong - now I can't authenticate my account. I'm afraid if I log off I won't be able to log back on. HELP!

I had to reset my password after the site came back up; my old password didn't work any more.

I was worried that the forums would be gone for good after being hacked. I'm so happy they returned. I love this place.

I use different passwords for everything just in case something like this happens.

I'm prepared for the worst. This place is going to get overrun with posts about how the Monkees couldn't play their own instruments, and nobody gives a crap about the new McCartney album.

    And email addresses.

I fear this might have been the intention, partially at least. Now I advise that you check if the email accounts that you have assigned with this site have had some suspicious login or sync attempts within 24 hours.

Ok, preachy and obvious, but still kinda sad there's people in the world who have nothing else to do but jack up websites. So many things in the world that need a little help right now, people are disquieted, and some guy with more than a semblance of computer skill chooses to hack websites for fun and make things even more difficult. I'll pass on that karma.

Just curious - anyone been using the google or other random password generator? I've seen that feature on google & I did set up a google a/c in order to view a livestream event that was on youtube in the summer - you had to have an account to view it. I've been using google as my browser for quite awhile before that, but never created account. Sometimes when visiting sites & I'm putting in password, I''ll get a google pop-up if I want to store/save in google a/c & I never do. I don't know that I feel completely safe w/that either & I never click keep me signed in on any sites. I enter it each time; feels more secure to me. So, any opinions?
