They released an album of outtakes from the 69-70 period for RSD. Labels like to do hints through RSD so I think that it's still gonna happen at some point. The fact that we saw actual promo images makes it even more likely.

Wasn't sure if someone in the know could elaborate on it...

That was a re-release of an album originally released in 2006 though (Burning Desire).

It was SUPPOSED to be relased in March (2022), so maybe it WILL come out in March (2023)...
I certainly hope so, lots of interesting stuff on it!

Yeah, it's weird. In a way it's connected to the box that's supposed to come out, but it also stands on it's own.

2022 for Hendrix has been wild. I don't know how we went from a huge delay for the box to getting the Forum. I would've thought there wasn't gonna be anything else for a while.

Oh, and that Angel cover happened. Actually, I blame Zayn for the ELS and RAH delays.

In which way is it connected?

Burning Desire has material that he was working on in the studio around the same time the ELS set will present. I imagine we're gonna get a lot more of that on the upcoming box. To me, both share the same idea. Show us what Jimi was working on during that period. The new box might even go back in time a little bit, I don't know if the tracks have leaked, but both look similar to me.

I think the main difference is that Burning Desire is mostly just Band of Gypsies jamming at the Record Plant, whereas ELS box set is Jimi, Mitch and Billy making a new album. But we'll see.

Both Sides of the Sky was announced right around this week in 2017 (oy), so it’s not totally out of the realm of possibility to hear something before Christmas…but unlikely.

The Burning Desire reissue was just them recycling something to get out for RSD, two totally separate events. If they were to do a BoG studio box, those would be connected. But one box at a time…

Yes, nothing on Burning Desire from Electric Lady Studios in the summer of 1970, which is what will be on the upcoming box.
    (If it actually gets released...)

I really hate to tell you guys this but ....................................... I've seen the box set [GZ pressed set], seen the box content.

I'm really sorry to burst the doubters and dicks bubble on this but it is real.

Jimi Hendrix answers that question himself with the title of the opening song on Band Of Gypsys.

    Ha ha, for sure!

I listen with my ears firstly but more importantly here, I've only seen this not heard a note, as yet.

Was it just in passing or did you actually bump into each other? Did you two get to talk at all? What did it say? Throw us a bone, man.
