One of my favorite David Bowie songs, from the superb Berlin, GE era...
Great, short but sweet new article posted on rollingstone.com yesterday.
The direct link I could not find.. if interested, simply go to www.rollingstone.com
Just scroll down page one, not far from top.

    Enjoy!

Nice, thanks. I love this LP also. I've been looking for a copy but I'm waiting for a
new release. I sold my copy I bought new in 77 along time ago.

Any news on a new release like the older stuff?

Apparently, Eno agreed to pay for the studio time of any tracks he recorded at the Heroes/Low/Lodger sessions which Bowie didn't use, so he could use them himself..anyone know what these tracks were?

Just saw a video of Eno on YouTube where he mentioned that the trilogy albums were not produced by him and that he was brought in for soundscapes. David had been going thru a problematic period and had been listening exclusively to Discreet Music and wanted help from Eno...hope I got all that right:)

Which casts even more doubt on the provenance of the Ryko bonus tracks Bowie 'dug up' for Low, Heroes, Lodger.

Some Are is the only one that really feels like '77

All Saints, Abdulmajid and I Pray Olé at least feel like they were either recorded or touched up in the late 80s

When asked why it's had such continuing resonance, Fripp responded simply, "Because David was speaking to what is highest in all of us."

    Damn right Fripp!

I enjoy the Nico version best.

They were produced by the great Tony Visconti.

Next box set in about a year will feature the Berlin era,; individual LPs will likely surface about six months after that, so March 2018 is my best guess.

Blondie's live version is also killer diller, with a burning sizzler solo from Fripp.
She thanks him by name check at the end, think it was live in UK or NYC.

Right! I have this somewhere, and on youtube also..
Fripp was probably sitting off, or nearly off the stage, I saw it once somewhere.
    Amazingly HOT!

Which one? From "Drama Of Exile"? I like that version too.

I'm not sure which of her versions if my favorites as I like quite a few live ones too but I definitely enjoy the one on Drama (actually the two versions recorded for Drama, as they recorded that album twice, as detailed at Drama of Exile - Wikipedia » ).

Then you might also like Andrea Schroeder’s version:

No matter who sings and plays it, “Heroes” is an outstanding, phantastic song.
