Equipment comes in all shapes and sizes - but are there any pieces out there that you would nominate for their good look (sound doesn't matter a jot in this one :) )

A few pieces stand out for me

Turntable - Clearaudio Master Reference (if it's good enough for Lara Croft ;) )
CD Transport/Player - Oracle CD 2500 (the aliens have landed)
Loudspeaker - Sonus Faber Guarneris (well I am a little biased here :) )
    Cartridge - Koetsu Urushi

I've never really come across an amplifier that has a high WAF - although there are a few I like the look of.

    All the best - Andrew

Well, seriously folks, I think the Tangent RS8's look pretty cool - like a tall pyramid.

Nice ~ but too modern looking for my taste. I'd have to upgrade everything - including ME!

If sound quality is not an issue on this thread, I would set the majority of the B&O product line. Especially the 5 cd unit. I so wanted one of these to sit on my coffee table with hidden line out back to the equipment. Now that would be coool, now see I am getting the urge again, ha. Anyway, most of the B&O equipment is good looking.

I agree on the RS8's Gary.;)

What about the Tangent amp and matching preamp that when stacked look like they belong in the Museum of Modern Art?

I love the look of that first Magnavox CD player, the FD1000 I think it was. I bought mine in 1984. It would track anything, it seemed, while Sony players got irritated by dust specks, let alone disc scratches. Anyway, I loved the subtle 50's SF / art deco design. Still have mine in the garage, though the D/A converters (I think--the reverb tails were stuttering) gave up the ghost long ago.

That reminds me - I used to have an Accuphase DP-70 CD player - certainly was lovely  It just exuded quality - the smoothest drawer action I've ever seen and looked like a zillion £/$. I've regretted selling it ever since and every now and again think of buying another one to make amends.

    All the best - Andrew

 Sounds intriguing, I've never seen one. I always thought that the Magnavox brand was entry level Philips gear during the 80's and 90's.
Sounds like a cool piece though. Any chance getting it fixed?

Good point! To me, it reminded me of a Borg cube! I think they were called Lupus Servis or something like that. The Tangent TT was pretty cool looking too - the Lupus Circus. Tangent had a sense of humour (note the correct spelling), didn't they? :)

Gary talk about the borg cube, you should check out my Pass Aleph 1.2's I bought them for the sound and not the look. I used to have a McIntosh 2255 power amp. What a beautiful looking amp with a chrome chassis and those giant aqua blue power meters. I love the way the McIntosh gear looks.

Speaking of the MAC, I fell in love with the MC1000 amp. 1000 watt meters what a WOW just to have in the system. Now I see they have 1200 watt monoblocks that look great. Yeahhhhh....now to save for a few years. MAC is great looking amps.

I think my VPI TNT turntable with ET-II tonearm is beautiful. Robert Redford's character in Indecent Proposal thought so, too. The turntable got a bit of screen time in the picture.
