High Power Mono Amps

    I did mean 10 gauge ... 10 gauge exceeds the 12 gauge requirement for 20 amp. Originally, I specified 20 amp lines on the same phase to the electrician which would be 12 gauge. I asked what it would take to run the heavier 10 gauge since the goal is to reduce resistance. He said “nothing, I’ll just run 10 gauge. I can put a 30 amp breaker on that if you want”. I said “Ok then, 10 gauge it is”. He had the 20 amp breakers so I said to just put those on.

    I don’t know if it’s the gauge of the wire or having multiple dedicated lines but I do know that it made a big difference in my system. Like the sound is all around me now and lots of punch ... exciting sounding.

    I have the Bryston 28 b2 mono blocks and after running 24 hours they become very smooth sounding. A friend who runs all VAC stuff thinks it sounds like tube gear at that point.

    The B Squared amps run Class A for first 50 watts.

    Bel Canto Pre 6 and Hagerman Trumpet phono stage in front of them.
