I've been reading Hunter S. Thompson's "Hey Rube," a collection of his Page 2 columns for ESPN.com. I'm not normally a big fan of "collection" books, but I gotta say that the Good Doctor is back on track. I say that as a huge fan of his early work, and as one who was throughly bored with his recent stuff like "Proud Highway" and "Kingdom of Fear." I thought he had run out of things to rant about, but this book has him clearly back on track. Anybody else get to it yet? Highly recommended for HST fans.

Mark....Count me in as a fan of HST's early work, too. And I'll check out "Hey Rube" on your recommendation. I've been reading "Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72".

Remember when that "lost" book of his was published a few years ago. It was his first book. I read most of it, and it was pretty interesting, but I lost the book and never have picked up another copy.
